Phone-Free School Day Implementation

Starting Monday, April 7, we will move to phase 2 implementation of the Phone-Free School Day policy.

  • All students will be issued a Yondr pouch through their period 2 classroom. Each Yondr pouch will have a number and a barcode that will be unique to the student, similar to textbook distribution. Students should NOT exchange pouches. Similar to textbooks, there will be a fee for lost or damaged pouches. The fee will be $50 per pouch.
  • Each day at school, students will need to turn off all cell phones and store them in their school-issued Yondr pouches and place the pouches in their backpacks for the entire school day.
  • School day refers to the time between when the morning bell rings for the student’s first instructional period until the bell rings for dismissal when the school day ends for the student, including nutrition and lunch.
  • During Phase 2, phones do not need to be locked, unless a student violates the Phone-Free School Day policy.
  • If a phone is locked because a student has not followed the Phone-Free School Day policy, the student will be able to get the phone unlocked at the end of the school day by the student's period 6 teacher or in one of the offices upon exiting the school.
  • Students who forget to bring their pouches will have their phones stored in the Main Office for the duration of the school day.
