Class Objective:
To provide the opportunity to develop skills in photography, including
technical, critical thinking, and aesthetic judgment. Artistic experimentation
is encouraged, but this is a beginning photography class and photographic
techniques are emphasized. This class will prepare you to identify,
select, research, and complete photographic concepts using traditional
and technological means.
Student responsibilities:
*Participate in all class
discussions and critiques. Attendance is part of your OVERALL grade.
Ten (10) absences will lead to one letter grade dropped, fifteen (15)
will lead to two letter grades dropped, and twenty (20+) or more will
lead to an automatic FAIL. Three tardies equals to one absence.
*Complete each assignment
and meet all deadlines. Late work will be lowered one letter grade
(A work will be given a B). No work will be accepted later than one
week after the due date; unless turned in with a legitimate medical
excuse.
*Come to class prepared
and ready to begin, continue or finish work.
*Help maintain the classroom
and labs clean and neat.
*Respect those around
you, the equipment you are using and the environment you are working
in. Abuse of equipment, unsafe use of chemicals or equipment, or theft
will result in removal from class and a FAIL on your report card. |

Class Objective:
To provide the opportunity to develop skills in photography, including
technical, critical thinking, and aesthetic judgment. Artistic experimentation
is encouraged, as is the ability to integrate other artistic methods
and academic subjects (English, history, math, science, etc.) into
each project. Your grade will be based on your photographic technique,
creativity, and craftsmanship. This class will expand your ability
to identify, select, research, and complete photographic concepts
using traditional and alternative means. This semester we will concentrate
heavily on alternative photographic methods. In the middle of the
semester we be integrating digital photography and imaging and will
conclude the semester with a cla
ss exhibition and digital portfolios.
