dddddLiterature in the 1950's was full of new and fresh ideas. There were "Betty Crocker" cook books, there were "Better Homes and Gardening" magazines. There were also a lot of political books and anti-communist literature. The civil rights movement was very important during this time. People were filled with curiosity and people started thinking outside the box. The books of this decade became entertaining with stories of monsters and aliens. The science fiction genre was very successful. People could not get enough of the monsters, aliens, and space ships. One very interesing piece of work that became very popular during this time was "The Thing From Another World. " John W. Campbell Jr. and Charles Lederer created a horrific sci-fi that captivated people of all ages.dkhfdlkasfdlkjdhfkjjjefjsdhjfkjshkjakfkjakjhjhdjfhusdhfj jjjfhd f f f fsdjhasfThe book was a big success, and later became a film in the U.S. The plot was about scientist at an Arctic reaserch station discover a unidentified spacecraft they do not want to leave it there, so they carry it back to there base. All hell brakes loose, they did not know "The Thing" inside would attack everyone, and enything insite. This interesting film came out on April 29, 1951. Another great classic sci-fi story was War of the Worlds. This story was introduced in the early 1900's, but after the movie came out in the 50's the story became very popular. A martian invasion on the earth, there intentions are uknown, maybe they want to adapt to our environment, or maybe they just want to exterminate our race. There is a huge crash and people try to explore the strange spacecraft. The alien creatures begin to incinerate the unsuspecting on-lookers.
