Science The 1920s was a decade of new inventions, new technology and a prosperous time for America. At the beginning of the 1920s soldiers were returning home to their family and were After WWI the weapons were no longer needed so the economy decreased for a while. However, just after a few years, America began to prosper again and became the world's richest nation where consumerism was being practiced. People were being paid $5 workday, which was a lot at the time period. They therefore began to spend money for better roads, tourism and holiday resorts. Technology played an important role in delivering the economic and cultural good times throughout the nation. New invention such as Henry Fords Model T. helped people to live an easy life. It made transportation welcoming for people in the newly built roads. Many people adopted Henry Ford's assembly line in their industry. Assembly line was important because it made labor fast and easy, however, it decreased the amount of laborers needed to do a job. |
Cars were not the only invention that interested people. During this time period the radio could be found in every home in America. The first public station was known as KDKA station, at first located in Pittsburgh. However, after a short while thousands more were on the air across the country. Radio wasn't the only means of entertainment in the Roaring Twenties. Silent movies were introduced to the people in 1922 with sound starring the jazz singer Al Jolson. In 1926, the introduction of Technicolor made movies more entertaining and memorable. As we all know, the movie industry became a major part of American industry then and now. |

Newly introduced immunization helped to cease the number of deaths caused by diphtheria.
