During the years of 1784-1800 there were many artists with different styles of art. Out of many of the artists there was Gilbert Stuart, Rembrandt Peale, and Giuseppe Vasi. These two artists had an impact on society and influenced the society during that time. Gilbert Stuart was born on December 3, 1755 in Stewart. Stuart began to show skills and interest as a portraitist painter in his early life. At the age of 13 or 14 he began to study classical art. Stuart was considered a portraitist. Gilbert Stuart was a fast painter and was able to produce a lot of portraits of many people. He produced many portraits and through out his career he made over 1,000 portraits of people. Some of the people he portrayed were the six first presidents of the U.S.A, Martha Washington, John Jay, Horatio Gates, and King George 111. Rembrandt Peale was born on February 22, 1778 in Bucks Country, Pennsylvania. He came from one of many Americas most famous artistic families. His father was a famous artist. Peale was considered a portraitist as well, and spent most of his career in Philadelphia. He made his first portrait when he was 17 years old. He portrayed "Michael Angelo and Emma Clara Peale", "Painting of Thomas Jefferson", "Washington before Yorktown", and "Pearl of Grief". Rembrandt died on October 3, 1860. He died with so much fame and remarkable paintings that in today's history he is still talked about. The art during the time period 1784-1800 was classical. These two artists are still up until this day remembered for their skills as portrait artists. They impacted society and were very important during their careers.
